Mr Mustafa ZENGIN
was born in Istanbul in 1951. He was graduated from the Faculty of Forestry,
University of Istanbul in 1973. Following his graduation, Mr ZENGIN started
working as a forest range officer for the Directorate General of the Turkish
Minestry of Forestry. Mr ZENGIN worked for a private company as plant manager
from 1981 to 1984,and then he joined Poplar and Fast Growing Forest Trees
Research Institute (PRI) at Izmit. He made an MSc. study from 1990 to 1992
and a Ph.D. study from 1992 to 1997 on watershed management at the University
of Istanbul. He attended a short term training course on Managing Forestry
Research in the U.K. in 1996. He worked as poplar irrigation expert for
the Turkish-Italian joint Project of Poplar Development from 1997 to 1999.
He attended a one month training programme on irrigation techniques in
the Institute of Agronomico per I'Oltremare in Florance-Italy in 1998.He
attended a short term training programmes on Determination of Carbon Storage
of Forests in the University of British Columbia in Vancouver-Canada in
1999 and Oklahoma State University in the USA in 2000. He has made many
research studies and publications on forest soil and ecology. Mr. ZENGIN
is already working as the head of the forest soils and ecology section
in the PRI at Izmit. Dr.Mustafa ZENGIN is married with two children.

Halis TALU was born
in 1961 in Gerede/BOLU. He finished his primary and secondary school in
Gerede respectively in 1972 and 1975. He graduated the Haydarpasa high school in
Istanbul in 1975. He graduated the forestry Industry Engineering Department of
Karadeniz Technical University Forestry Faculty in 1983. He completed his
military service between in 1984 and 1985.
He
started to work for ORUS (Forest Products Industry) in 1986. He worked as the
Factory Engineer, Plywood and Veneer Factory Chief, Particleboard Factory Chief,
Wood Protection Factory Chief, Computer Department Chief
and Guesthouse Chief in BOLU - ORUS. In Demirköy/KIRKLARELİ - ORUS, he
worked as the Chief of the Timber Factory and at Department of Purchase and
Sales of ORUS Headquarter as an engineer, Purchase Manager and Export Manager.
After
the privatization of ORUS in 2000, he worked for Bolu - SEKA for a year. He was
appointed to Poplar and Fast Growing Forest Trees Research Institute in
Izmit/KOCAELİ through the law 4046 of Turkish constitution. He has been working
as an engineer Project Planning and Evaluation Department since February 2002.
He has attended several training programs such as ; MPM-Institution Management Training, MPM-REFA Workshop Basic Education (A, B), MÜ, SBMYO-External Commerce Training, TUSSIDE-Efficiency and Productivity, IGEME-External Commerce Programme, SEGEM-Computer Usage. He has actively taken part in the preparations of the VII. And VIII Development 5-Year Plans of the Industry of Forest Products.
